ACE Is Versatile

ACE students discussing policy.

When I came into the ACE department my freshman year, I knew that I wanted to create a career in the agricultural industry, but I wasn't sure exactly where I fit in. I had interests in careers with animals, crops, and equipment. But I didn't want to pick an area of study in just one of those fields. In ACE, I've learned business skills and economics to prepare me for wherever my career would take me.

During my internship as an agronomy intern, I knew that having a career working with crops was a direction that I wanted to take. I enjoyed being in the field and working with farmers. Shortly after, I declared a minor in Crop and Soil Management; I wanted to direct my focus towards agronomy but never wanted to lose the base in business and economics that I had fallen in love within ACE.

With a degree in ACE, I could develop a career in almost any direction, from crops to animals to equipment. ACE is a degree that will enhance your professional experience in wherever it may be. I'm looking for positions in agronomy sales currently, but I could've easily gone into a career selling equipment, communications, or working with animals. That is the great thing about ACE; ACE is a degree that can be taken in whatever direction that you wish, without changing departments.
