Research Statement

I am an applied economist with research interests in the fields of real estate, urban and environmental economics.  My research seeks to analyze urban phenomena that interact with urban housing markets.  Though foreclosures are not a new phenomenon, the massive wave of home foreclosures since the collapse of the housing bubble in 2007 has led to unprecedented housing market conditions across the U.S.  The consequences of the foreclosure crisis have drawn great attention from the public and various levels of government.  My doctoral dissertation evaluates the government’s response aimed at mitigating the impacts of foreclosures and also investigates the post-bubble impacts of foreclosures from both spatial and temporal dimensions.
