Associate Attorney

Brad Faber says that the best part of being an associate attorney is achieving results for clients. “I enjoy working with people to ‘bring them down off the ledge’ in stressful situations.”

He said that it takes several important mental skills to achieve those results. “You have to learn to organize your thoughts and think critically,” he said. “Being able to think quickly and articulate a logical thought is very important to success.”

Being an associate attorney isn’t always a 9-to-5 job, Brad said. “Meeting deadlines is very important, and that can require a lot time. You might have to work long and hard to pull it all together.”

Brad mastered these characteristics through his membership in agricultural fraternity Alpha Gamma Rho and on the College of ACES livestock judging teams.

“I credit both activities for helping me improve my public and oral presentation skills tremendously,” he said. “These organizations also helped me become more organized and adapt under difficult circumstances and maintain composure.”

Brad says that above all, he values the friendships he gained at the University of Illinois.

“I know that I can get help from friends I met at the University of Illinois even if I haven't spoken with them for a few years,” he said.
