Kelley Fornoff
Learning how to study and succeed on my own most helped prepare me for my job.

Profile: Kelley Fornoff

Agricultural Marketing Consultant, Hueber Report

Coming from the University of Illinois, agricultural and consumer economics graduate Kelley Fornoff knows her education and experiences were second to none.

“I have no doubt that at any other university I wouldn’t have been able to work with world-class professors and travel abroad to learn as much as I did,” Kelley says. “I don’t think I could have been more prepared for life after college in the ag industry. U of I has always been special to me, but the College of ACES, as cliché as it may sound, truly makes me feel at home.”

ACES prides itself on creating a family environment for students and faculty. Kelley feels the people were truly what made her experiences most memorable.

“Through being involved in ACES organizations, I was able to meet some of the best advisors and alumni who helped guide me along my career path,” Kelley says. “Many of them I still keep in contact with today.”

Kelley was involved in the Student Advancement Committee, the National Agri-Marketing Association, and ACES Council; she also was an ACE Ambassador. She studied abroad in New Zealand and the Dominican Republic and as part of the International Business Immersion Program (IBIP) researched the sugarcane ethanol industry in Brazil. She also traveled to California one spring break to learn about agriculture issues in the state.

“Learning how to study and succeed on my own most helped prepare me for my job,” Kelley says, “together with the experiences I gained studying abroad. From taking the most challenging courses to going to Brazil for IBIP, I have been able to adapt to new work environments and quickly learn whatever issues I am faced with for the day.”
