Endless Opportunities

Austin Zwilling

At the University of Illinois, the opportunities are endless. I found this out when I took part in the International Business Immersion Program that traveled to China this past summer. This experience was so life changing that I knew I wanted to participate in more programs like IBIP at the University of Illinois.

Going into my senior year I decided I would sign up for the Chicago Agribusiness Program that is open to all majors at the University of Illinois. This 8-week class taught students that the city of Chicago was at the center of the agricultural world. Additionally, several companies like PepsiCo and 1st Farm Credit came to class to talk about their business and career opportunities. The one-week trip involved going to a variety of companies including Eli’s Cheesecakes, Whole Foods, and McDonalds. The class even was able to walk the floor at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The trip to Chicago allowed the class to come full circle for me when I could  go to the places we talked about in class.

All in all, the University of Illinois has several programs that allow you to learn by actually visiting the place you’re learning about. These immersion programs are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the opportunities available at one of the greatest colleges in the country.
