Do What You Love, Love What You Do

Mary Carroll

“What are you doing after graduation?”  I feel like I get asked that almost every day now that graduation is just a month away.  My answer: I get to help clients live great lives.  As a financial planner, I will help clients reach their personal goals through managing their finances.  Financial planners provide advice on investments, insurance, estate planning, taxes and more.
There is a growing demand for financial planning.  According to the United States Department of Labor, employment of personal financial advisors is projected to grow 30 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations.  There is also great earning potential.  “At an average midcareer salary of $104,000, financial planners out-earn the rest of the top 10 professions,” according to Investment News.
So, if you are a little obsessed with numbers, planning ahead, thinking creatively and enjoy making relationships and having an impact on peoples’ lives then consider getting a degree in Financial Planning.  In the Department of ACE, the concentration Financial Planning prepares and qualifies students to take the Certified Financial Planner exam after graduation.
What are you waiting for?  Start building a great life for yourself while helping the lives of your clients too.
