Getting Adopted Into ACES

Sierra Beery

This fall, I decided to transfer from Parkland College to the College of ACES. “What a scary decision,“ I thought. There will be bigger classes, new friends, and scariest of all, a huge campus. Change can be difficult, but experiencing the College of ACES firsthand made my anxieties fall away one by one.

ACES provides students a brand new family. It truly is a home away from home. The students are easy to talk with and easy to get to know. If you get lost around campus, just ask! The students and faculty are both here to help. If you need help preparing your resume before a Career Fair, visit the ACES Career Services Center. The staff will help you review your resume and give you awesome tips on how to win an interview. Get involved by joining a Registered Student Organization (RSO).  There are hundreds of RSO’s throughout the University, but being in ACES, I have found that the people that most relate to both my studies and my passion. I am involved in the Collegiate Farm Bureau and the ACE Club. Overall, the College of ACES is the perfect fit for my present studies and my future career goals. I feel blessed to have been adopted into such a wonderful family -- the College of ACES family.
