Bon Dia (Good Morning) from beautiful Foz de Iguaçu, Brazil!  The group started their day with a traditional Brazilian breakfast served at Hotel Nadai.  A traditional Brazilian breakfast consists of a variety of sweet and savory options that range from fresh fruits like pineapple and watermelon to other exotic items like pigs in a blanket.  With all of the different hotels we have stayed at thus far we have all had the distinct opportunity to try unique South American breakfast staples.

Bom Ano Novo (Happy New Year)! Many places in Brazil were closed today because it’s New Year’s Day. As a result, we had the morning to catch up on rest. We ate breakfast at the hotel, enjoyed the rooftop pool, and packed up our room in preparation for transferring to our next hotel in Sorocaba. We walked to a mall for lunch because it was one of the few places with open restaurants. There were many American options including Taco Bell, McDonalds, and Burger King.

Today was the third official day of meetings, continuing on ACE 292’s grand adventure in California! With the extra time and break from classes on Spring Break, it feels like our class has been in the great state for several weeks, rather than just a few days. Even though it’s bittersweet realizing that our time here is more than halfway over, we are truly appreciative of all the amazing opportunities we’ve experienced so far, and we are excited for the remainder of the trip.
