Obtaining a minor is a great way to customize your undergraduate experience and achieve a broad understanding of a subject that interests you. Less rigorous than a major program, minors usually require 18-30 credit hours, and our campus has more than 100 to choose from.

Environmental Economics and Law

The minor in Environmental Economics and Law is designed to provide students with basic skills in economic and legal analysis, and to teach them how to apply those tools to environmental problems. Students will emerge from this minor with in-depth knowledge about issues related to environmental protection and natural resource management and possibly sustainable development or land-use planning. The 300- and 400-level courses may have additional prerequisites not included in requirements for the minor.

Food and Agribusiness Management

The Food and Agribusiness Management minor is designed for students to deepen their knowledge of the economics and management of agribusinesses as a complement to studies and practices in their major field. Courses will address food, biofuels, biotechnology, agriculture, the environment, and management within the global agribusiness system.

International Development Economics

The International Development Economics minor is designed for students to deepen their understanding of international development practices around the globe. Courses will examine food, trade, agriculture, the environment, policy, and aid practices as they relate to development goals and international development practices.

Sustainability Minor

The Sustainability, Energy, and Environmental Fellows Program is a campus wide undergraduate minor that promotes systems-level thinking about energy and sustainability.  This minor is offered in partnership with six academic units - one of which is the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics (ACE).
