The Return Home

ACE students discussing policy.

At the end of what seemed to be the end of a terrific journey and nearly 3650 km (2250 miles) traveled in China, it was time to pack up our bags and head back to America. We departed from Hong Kong International Airport, ranked one of the best airports in the world.

A parting look at China. As 20 students coming from Champaign, IL,  this trip has been an exploration of a lifetime. From the rural areas of Xiantao (Wuhan) to Shanghai's high rises, China's diversity only proves how far this county has overcome and still has yet to accomplish. Everything in China was overwhelmingly - from The Great Wall to Shanghai 2010 Expo. China's amazing growth is only the beginning as this nation is truly becoming a land of opportunity for many. Faced with the challenge of feeding over 1.3 billion citizens and expanding its economy, China is one of the most exciting places to be in the world.

We would like to thank everyone who made this trip as amazing as it was. This includes our company sponsors, our faculty, our tour guides, our Mandarin speaking students, and all the friends we have met on the way.
