Of course student life isn’t just about the opportunities to learn off-campus or even out of the country. It’s about the connections you can make within the campus community.

Joining a student organization can help students connect with peers who share common interests. Students pursuing an ACE degree have a number of groups they can join that pertain to their major, including ACE Club, Financial Planning Club, National Agricultural Marketing Association (NAMA), and The DC Initiative.

Students also find that they thrive in organizations that seem unrelated to their major. It is easy to get connected to these opportunities through participation in Quad Day or through the Involved@Illinois search engine.

You can follow along with what current ACE students are involved in on our Facebook and Twitter pages!  You can also visit ACE to explore the campus and department in person.

Students are encouraged to join a student run organization to help enhance their college experience. These organizations offer the chance to network with peers and industry professionals, gain valuable experience outside the classroom, and better the experience of other students by taking on leadership roles. The following groups are excellent options for anyone pursuing an ACE major. Students can utilize the Involved@Illinois search engine to view a comprehensive list of University of Illinois clubs and organizations.

Financial Planning Club

Designed for students from any major, this club offers opportunities for members to learn about financial planning as a career path. By providing students with developmental courses, reading lists of industry literature and even job opportunities, the Financial Planning Club hopes to shape members into competitive job candidates when pursuing a career in financial planning.

NAMA

The Illinois chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) offers students the chance to become part of a network of industry professionals. NAMA’s mission statement is to serve the food & fiber industry, focusing on members’ professional development by providing access to solutions and opportunities in agribusiness.
